Look Of The Day: Using Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette!

I am so in love with my new UD 15th Anniversary Palette. There are so many different looks you can do with it.  I feel so bad because I have been neglecting all my other eyeshadows because I keep wanting to try out new looks!

This is such an easy, yet classy look. It focuses on purple tones in the palette. Here is how I applied it:
After applying my foundation and UD eyeshadow primer, I used the color "Omen", which is such a beautiful light iridescent purple with some blue tones.

I left my inner corner open as I put a different color there after. I brushed over the other 3/4 of my eyelid and a little bit above the crease. This color is definitely buildable depending on how dark you want this look to be...

Next, I used the color "Half Truth", which is a darker purple tone for my crease.
I used windshield wiper motions to hollow out my crease and blended up and out towards the outside of my eye to give it a slight cat eye look. I also took this color and smudged it down along half of my lower lash line. Taking a clean blending brush, I blended all the colors together so there were no harsh lines.

For the inner corners and that part we left open, I took the gold color "Chase" and blended it from the inner corners into the darker colors to make a seamless transition. I also took this color down to the other half of my inner lower lash line to widen the eyes.

To highlight under my brows I used "Vanilla" and slightly blended with the other colors. After that I lined my water lines (top and bottom) and applied my ELF Liquid Eyeliner in black with a winged out tip. To finish off the look I curled my lashes and applied a couple coats of mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

It's important to keep a nude-ish lip for this look so there isn't too much stuff going on that takes away from your natural beauty. I always choose just 1 area that I want to focus on (eyes, lips, contouring, etc...)

Although these colors are drop dead gorgeous, you can also use similar colors with palettes that you already have. ELF and Wet n' Wild have great colors for less money. However, if you do decide to buy this palette, you won't be disappointed!

I hope you enjoyed this look, please comment and Join my blog!!

A New Facebook Page For Hapamanda!

I cannot believe how many social networking sites are out there right now!! I have been on facebook personally/privately for years and I just decided to create a business page from some advice from my oh so awesome Ohana Mama - Sarah Burns!! She has been blogging for a long time and knows all the ropes. I can't wait to keep picking her brain :)

At first all I wanted to do was a few videos since I started building my new makeup collection and do reviews. It's turned into something that I totally LOVE! I never thought I would be comfortable on "camera", but it's totally fun and since I am a stay at home mom, it's hard to get out and do "Adult" things. This way I kind of get the best of both worlds.  The adult interaction is totally necessary and even though I'm talking to a camera, it really has been helping with a lot of loneliness I've been feeling.

My new Hapamanda Facebook Page will pretty much be a lot like my Twitter page in that it will just keep people updated on new videos I post on my YouTube Channel and my Mommy Beauty Blog right here :) I will be checking them all frequently, so whatever works best for you, feel free to comment or ask questions! I always love new ideas and also the ability to get to know new people.

I really hope you all enjoy this little thing I call my "Mommy Beauty Adventure"!! I'm learning so much about makeup, beauty, fashion, health and wellness thru my research and testing out new products (which I buy all MYSELF) I am not affiliated with any companies (yet :p ) so everything is bought by me unless I state otherwise. Making money is the last thing I am thinking about. I am just needing an outlet for all my creative energy that I've been holding inside since being a Mom.

Please join me!!!
All the best,
Amanda

Oh Mylanta!! LOL

So, my latest facial treatment to help with oily skin during the day has been "Milk of Magnesia" - aka: Mylanta! There are a bunch of videos on YouTube about it and I decided to try it. So crazy, right? I'm not 100% convinced that it works, but there aren't any weird side effects so far either.

I have been using it after I wash my face, apply toner and even after my moisturizer. It comes in a huge bottle that I got from Rite Aid in the original formula. You don't want it to be in any flavored kind and you also don't need to get any special kind of brand name; any generic will do.  I poured a little bit into a smaller container so I don't have to have that weird bottle out on my counter like a weirdo :p I use a cotton ball to apply it on my skin after my moisturizer - as if it were a primer.  My foundation glides over it perfectly. Some people have reported crumbling, but I have not had that problem. You can tell right away that it absorbes a lot of oil, but I'm just not convinced that it holds up thru an entire day. I also want to try different ways to apply it, like before my moisturizer or just using it nightly to tame the oil in general.

Have you tried it for Oily skin? Please tell me what you think!! I'll keep you updated on what I think is the best way to apply it. If it ends up working then SCORE! It's a super cheap alternative to other oil prevention methods (aka: Urban Decay De Slick for $29) haha. I definitely didn't pay more than $7 for a HUGE bottle of it.

Let me know what you think!

Makeup Breaks!

Last night I did an at home Microdermabrasion on my face so today I decided to take a little break from my makeup routine :) I usually am an "Au Naturale" type of girl, but ever since I built up my makeup collection, I haven't really gone too many days without going all out with a new makeup look. Today my face is a little pink and sensitive and my eyelashes are a bit brittle from my daily waterproof mascara trials. It's nice to give my face a break once in a while!

I'm so happy with my YouTube Channel and I've been getting some really awesome subscribers with amazing new video ideas. I can't wait to see where this goes. I even started my 3 year old her own YouTube Channel (private of course). She loves to mimic Mommy :) I love having something to help me feel productive during my days and maybe even helping some of my subscribers like they have helped me (and so many other people who's videos I watch religiously). I don't have a clear view of exactly where I am going with my YT Channel or this blog. I just know that I'm really loving doing this and can't wait to see where it takes me. It might be totally random, but that's me....Random!! lol.

Instead of making 2 different blogs (1 for beauty/makeup and another as my Mommy Blog) I think I am going to combine the 2. Afterall, they both end up revolving around each other in my house. My style and makeup has a lot to do with my Mommy Style and finding practical yet fashionable things to keep me in the loop of the fashion and makeup world!

I will most likely never show my children's faces and I hope you all can understand. It's a creepy world out there sometime and you never know what things can lead to. But I can talk about them until I'm blue in the face and have no problems doing that!

So, read what you like, skip over what you don't.....I'm doing this for me and other Women that need a little beauty inspiration from time to time.  I don't expect everyone to understand me completely thru my blog. I'm all about love and learning, so if you are anything like me then please read on and subscribe!! I want this to be a documentation of my life for my girls to read and see when they're grown. I want them to see that you can be a good Mom and have a life outside of them. I want my marriage to beat the incredibly horrible odds of a successful marriage and we all know that ......A happy wife = happy life!!!!

Have a wonderful day and I'll catch you in the next post!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

My First Time At Sephora!

OMG. That's all I have to say. I have always steered very clear of Sephora at my local Mall because I just know it will lead to extreme financial damage :p I went anyways because my Mom was watching the girls for a bit. It was like makeup HEAVEN. The mall was pretty dead for a Monday but Sephora was rockin'!! There were so many people in there and the customer service was still amazing. I think I had at least 3 people come up to me and ask if they could help me and one gave me a basket to put my stuff in! Total surprise. I also chatted with one of the makeup artists who so kindly poured samples of the Smashbox Primers for me to test out before I bought the entire tube (so awesome!!).

So I'm sure you're wondering what I ended up getting....Well, after almost 2 hours of walking around the store 5 times with my jaw to the floor I picked up the full size of the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I knew I wanted to get this before I went in because I've never seen a negative review on it and I didn't find it any cheaper online. I totally love it. It keeps my eyeshadow on all day, no creasing and no fading. sThe only thing is that the new packaging does not have the wand applicator which I think I kind of liked better? It has the squeeze tip, but it has 10% more product in it. At any rate, still a great buy!!
After that I hovered around the Urband Decay section of the store for a while holding the ultra popular "Naked" eyeshadow palette. I also saw their newer 15th Anniversary eyeshadow palette that everyone has been raving about. WHAT TO DO??? So, I went on facebook and the only feedback I got was to get both! lol. Yeah right. Which one of my kids should I sell to get both? Jk :) The 15th Anniversary one is $55 and the Naked Palette is $48. So, since the 15th Anniversary one is a Limited Edition and the Naked Palette doesn't seem to be going anywhere, I went for the 15th. WOW-EEE. It is so beautiful. I am so glad that I got that one because it still has plenty of neutral shades that I wanted in the Naked Palette, but it also has Smokey shades and Bright colors. It was the best of all eyeshadow worlds!! Not to mention it also acts as a jewelry box with a hidden compartment when you're done using it! (I wonder how long it will take me to use it all up???) So, I rationalized that in order to buy it because I was getting more than just an eyeshadow palette :p hahaha.
(pics provided by Karlasugar.net).

So, I have to say, my first trip to Sephora was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I really love that you can try on ANY product and I hear they have a fabulous return policy. I could spend hours in there for sure and I think that is going to be my new getaway place for when I have to get out of the house and don't know where to go!!!

Thanks Sephora!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!
